Here’s Where Everyone Ended Up On “The Big Bang Theory”

Here’s Where Everyone Ended Up On “The Big Bang Theory”

After 12 great years, The Big Bang Theory has finally come to an end.

CBS

Here’s what happens to your favorite characters in the series finale:

Sheldon and Amy win a Nobel Prize.

CBS

After anxiously awaiting the news, Sheldon and Amy learn that they’ve received the Nobel Prize in Physics.

Amy uses the prize money to give herself a makeover (OKAY, AMY!!!!!!)…

CBS

…while Sheldon adjusts to the media attention.

Two months later, the gang travel to Sweden for the award ceremony, but almost bail due to Sheldon’s bad behavior. After a few “tough love” conversations with Amy and Penny, Sheldon realizes that he’s been a jerk (for the past few years).

/ CBS

Asking them each to stand, he uses his acceptance speech as an opportunity to, basically, thank his friends for putting up with him for all these years, and tells them how much they each mean to him.

CBS

Ending his extremely heartfelt speech, he says, “I apologize if I haven’t been the friend you deserve. But I want you to know, in my way, I love you all.”

CBS

*Cue my sobbing* This is what character growth looks like, people!

Leonard and Penny reveal they’re going to be parents!

CBS

After a few drinks with Sheldon while he anxiously awaits the Nobel news, Penny returns home to Leonard and “attacks him”. Two months later, the two are trying to keep Penny’s pregnancy a secret. But, on the plane to Sweden, Penny grows irritated with Sheldon’s constant questions about her frequent bathroom visits, and she lets the truth slip.

During Sheldon’s acceptance speech, he recalls the pair’s first meeting, saying, “I was there the moment Leonard and Penny met. He said to me that their babies would be smart and beautiful. And now that they’re expecting, I have no doubt that that will be the case.”

CBS

Howard and Bernadette leave their children for the first time.

CBS

Ever the devoted parents, Bernadette and Howard struggle with the prospect of leaving their two children, Halley and Michael, for the first time. [Fun fact: The finale was the first time the kids were shown on-screen.]

In the end, they decide to leave the kids with Stuart and Denise, so they can fly to Sweden to support Sheldon and Amy.

CBS

Raj meets Sarah Michelle Gellar.

/ CBS

After ending his relationship with Anu in the penultimate episode, Raj is single, once again. On the plane to Sweden, he meets Sarah Michelle Gellar and somehow convinces her to attend the ceremony with him.

During his speech, Sheldon looks over to the crowd and says, “Is that Buffy the Vampire Slayer?” and it’s great.

CBS

Oh! And the elevator FINALLY works again. (But after trying to cram that many people and heavy suitcases in it at once, I wouldn’t be surprised if it broke again.)

CBS

This shouldn’t matter to me so much, but it does.

The show ends with the gang eating takeout as always, while a slower rendition of the theme song plays which, I kid you not, brought on the water works.
